2008 Month Of June:
This past weekend, the weather broke long enough for the Swaffer's third annual car show. It was an excellent venue, and turned into an excellent night. I had a wonderful time at the 13th annual Memorial Day Car Show in Manton, Michigan two weekends ago. As always the promoters were wonderful hosts, and the weather was absolutely beautiful cooperating for the entire event. With over 70 cars in the line up, many of which I have not seen there in the last 5 years, I was impressed by them all. I was able to speak with many people at both shows, and was able to hear numerous stories about the people's awesome rides. I am very excited about this upcomimg season of chrome and steel. The Moose Car Show also in Cadillac is on June 15th. The following weekend will be the Antiques on the Bay in St. Ignace on June 20 & 21, followed by the St. Ignace Car show on June 26- 28. See you out on the circuit.
2008 Month of July:
What another excellent pair of shows in St. Ignace! Antiques on the Bay had beautiful weather, and even more beautiful cars. Featured was a "Hostetler" Hudson worth a staggering $180,000. The financier behind this original car and the 49 others (yes 49) housed in Shipshewana, Indiana, Eldon Hostetler and his wife Esta, were my neighbors for the day. They were very kind and generous people, and Eldon was an inspiration to many of the viewers of his cars. I was very impressd with his passion for vehicles.
During the Big Show, the weather was a bit shaky on a few occassions, but through this I met some wonderful people, so I suppose the weather was about perfect. The Mobsteel Crew, Headed by Adam and Pam Genei, was located next to me in the Marina Area. They were some of the kindest people that I have had the occassion to meet, and I look forward to seeing them in the future. Their Lincolns are some of the smoothest and tricked out rides that I have ever seen. I was also able to see my friends Ed and Donna Ryan, such good and gracious people. Their son Steve (A Mobsteel Member) also allowed me to ride in his "Dead President" Lincoln Continential, a donked out green, chrome spoked beast. St. Ignace as always was dressed to impress with over 1100 cars stretching the 2.5 mile stretch of asphalt. I am so impressed with Nostalgia Productions and what they do for St.Ignace and the State of Michigan. I am so looking forward to the future Trucking Show, and all the shows to come.
For those of you that I met at the shows and are first time visitors to my site, I hope that you enjoy.
Note: I was accepted into a juried art show through the University of Michigan, Dearborn, and The Alfred Berkowitz Gallery. The piece in the show is Chieftain Falls. The show deals with the urban landscape and can be viewed from June 27 to July 24 2008. The piece can be found in my vehicle gallery.

2009 Summer
St. Ignace was amazing again this year. It was fun to reconnect with old friends like Ed and Donna Ryan and those that have had me do portraits for them, as well as meet new car lovers. This year, I met Brian Downing the owner of the General Lee on loan to the show for John Schneider's use, and he was a standup guy, as was his friend Eric, who is currently producing the Burt Reynold's Bandit. I will be doing a drawing of their General in the near future. My employer from 20 years ago, Mike Stowe, owner of Classic Instruments from Boyne City, also stopped into my tent. Seeing Steve Ryan of Mobsteel was as always, a pleasure, and viewing their Ford Flex that they tricked out was creatively awe inspiring. Wow was it impressive, Adam Genei, though not able to attend outdid himself with the Flex. It took top honors at SEMA this year. My Plymouth Roadrunner guitar attracted a great deal of attention in my tent this year as well. I also presented Ed Reavie with a drawing of his Chevy. With over 10,000 people attending, it was a mass of gearheads and automotive artists. It was a privilege.
2009 Fall/ Winter
Awesome News: I was invited to present my work to the President and some patrons of Kettering University, as well as leaders of the automotive industry, and industrial job sponsors in Flint, Michigan on September 10th, 2009, 5:30 to 8:30. This was the first college that I had originally attended to learn the engineering business. Kettering (Formally GMI Engineering and Business Management Institute, formally General Motors Institute) invited me to come and have an art show at the Main Campus Building for a rather sizeable dinner party, and display some of my pieces. I was very excited with this opportunity, as I did not necessarily perform as well academically there as I could have or should have. It is a prestigious school with a long line of successful manufacturers and a rigorous curriculum. Initially, and still, I wanted to be the dreamer and the designer, but, the mathematics, and chemistry laden curriculum proved too arduous for me to comprehend so I left. I wanted to draw all day and teach, and now I do, and it took that experience to teach me that valuable lesson.
2010. It is hard to believe another decade is gone. I had the honor of recently being asked to draw America's next supercar the Devon GTX. This $300,000.00 automotive sculpture with Michigan roots, shows that the creativity of Michiganders is far from depleted. The owner Scott Devon has much to be proud of his car as it has garnered intrest by the likes of Jay Leno, and Arnold Schwarnenegger. The GTX also captured the speed record at Laguna race way this past summer. His car and all of his creations, watches, bikes and such can be found at Devon Motorworks. Dig deeper into the site and you will find Jay Leno's take on the car, and also the time trials at Laguana. Enjoy!
West Branch 2010.
I was once again invited to the West Branch Wine and Cheese Walk to be
a featured artist at the event. The community of West Branch
is fortunate to have someone as active as Michelle Gouin-Green helping
to organize such a fabulous event, and the businesses are so receptive
to it. It is truly an interesting vibe at the event. The event was
reported by the Ogemaw Herald Press, and I was fortunate enough to make the photographic
cut and actually appeared in their publication. I was able to connect
with old friends, and find some new friends. I even met the producer
for the Guinness Book of World records longest continual concert at 313
hours. He played with my American Beauty guitar, and also found my
homebuilt Cigar Box Amplifiers to be a thing of envy. I also finally
found a glass medicine bottle at an antique store there in West Branch
like Duane Allman used to use. I have been looking for one of those for
a long time. My hosts for the evening were Peter and Samantha Fabbri
of The Silver Lining,
a high end retail store in the West Branch Down Town District. They
were awesome, as was their store, and Peter made a bean and rice dish
that tasted incredible. I am really looking forward to getting out to
the car shows this year, and camping with my family. If you see me in
my tent please don't hesitate to stop in and say hello.
January through March 2011: It
has been a busy year of art for me. I was back up to St. Ignace three
times this past summer, reinvited to the Kettering President's Dinner,
another piece was hung down at U of M, Dearborn, and I was a guest in West Branch again for their December, 4th Wine and Cheese Walk at Grand Illusion's Hair Salon.
One of my favorite things about going around the state of Michigan is
meeting all of the people that I do. They make the production of the
art secondary, as I have met some amazing people over the last five
years of my artistic pursuits. I am also changing around my website a
bit. You should see changes in the next few months. Hope this new year
is treating all of my friends well. Chat soon.

Summer 2011: I
am anxious and excited about this upcoming car show season. I have The
Moose Car Show here in Cadillac, and will be up to St. Ignace three
times again this year to visit my St. Ignace family that my art has
allowed me to be gifted with. I am looking forward to sharing my
images, and the stories of the vehicles that have been created in this
wonderful state. I hope that we can all weather the current legislative storm that is brewing.
I have also been doing photography as of late, and having a lot of fun
playing with nature and light. If you see me out and about, stop me,
say hi, and share. Chat soon
